MAXWELL DAVIES Miss Donnithorne’s Maggot
Harrison Birtwistle and Peter Maxwell Davies were two of the most prominent avant-garde musical voices in post-war Britain.
The Cantata, dating from 1969, includes many sections determined by chance and individual choice.
Through a remarkable range of vocal effects, Miss Donnithorne’s Maggot tells the cruel story of a wronged and jilted Australian woman.
