KENNY WHEELER’S LOST SCORES

MONDAY 24 JUNE, 8.30PM
VORTEX JAZZ CLUB

Marking 10 years since the death of Kenny Wheeler, we are proud to present the rarely performed works from Wheeler’s formative years. His original scores from the first BBC broadcasts in the 1970s, maintained in the Academy’s archive, have been reconstructed for this exclusive performance.
Students from the Academy and the Frost School of Music, University of Miami, perform alongside vocalist Norma Winstone, a legend of British jazz who was part of the original Kenny Wheeler big band sessions. Also featured are the Heads of Jazz from both institutions, trumpeters Nick Smart and John Daversa, and rising star James Copus.

£23 (MEMBERS £20, STUDENTS £15); FROM VORTEXJAZZ.CO.UK.
