Pianist Joseph Havlat and Riot Ensemble, the Composition Department’s Ensemble in Residence, give the premiere performance of two new works by Gareth Moorcraft: Unrealities and Two Minds. In a research project funded by the Academy that combines piano and synthesiser in solo and ensemble contexts, these pieces explore fascinating sonic potential through unique new pianistic challenges.
The works are programmed alongside Alex Hills’ Samples for solo piano and Louise Drewett’s Rowing Tune for solo cello.
